Dr. Sherley Lefevre, Ph.D. was born in Brooklyn, New York, and is of Haitian descent. She is married to her loving husband Samuel and is a mother to her loving son Jeremiah. Despite the many trials encountered in her childhood and adult years, Dr. Sherley retained her love and passion for God. She has a mission to spread the love of Jesus Christ through her counseling, teaching, and writing gifts. Dr. Sherley is a Registered Nurse by trade; having completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing, she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Nursing. Dr. Sherley holds a Master’s in Theology (MDiv) and a Doctorate in Practical Ministry (Ph.D.).
Additionally, Dr. Sherley is a Certified Christian counselor specializing in grief, trauma, women’s issues, and relationships. Dr. Sherley released her first book entitled The Master’s Piece in 2019 under the pen name Precious Gem. The Master’s Piece explores God’s artistic and creative nature through biblical study and personal testimony. In the book, Dr. Sherley shares her experiences and examines a variety of scriptures to inspire believers to enlarge their view of God.
Dr. Sherley is the founder of Precious Gem Ministries, a non-profit, faith-based organization devoted to women’s empowerment and spiritual growth. The organization exists to provide Christian Bible teaching and resources through books, sermons, intercessory prayers, evangelical missions, and more, specifically to teach, edify, and empower women. The organization has a local and global mission to assist those in despair, who feel destitute and hopeless, to find strength and hope in a time of need. Precious Gem Ministries provides spiritual growth opportunities for women through monthly meetings, daily inspirational posts via a Facebook group (Precious Gems for Christ), and ongoing events throughout the year. Dr. Sherley is an empowered woman called to counsel, inspire, and empower women!

Meet Dr. Sherley
Dr. Sherley Lefevre, Ph.D., a native of Brooklyn, New York, and of Haitian descent. Throughout her childhood and adult years, Dr. Sherley faced numerous trials from molestation to surviving domestic violence. Despite her hardship she retained an unwavering love and passion for God. With a mission to spread the love of Jesus Christ, she utilizes her counseling, teaching, and writing gifts.
As a Nurse by profession, Dr. Sherley holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Nursing. She is also well-versed in theology, having earned a master’s in divinity (MDiv) and a Doctorate in Practical Ministry (Ph.D.). In 2023, Dr. Sherley was honored with two prestigious honorary doctorates: a doctorate in Christian Humanities from the School of the Great Commission and a Doctor of Divinity from the United Kingdom Abyssinia Christ Centered Theological Seminary.
Dr. Sherley is the esteemed host of the podcast and international radio show "A Word with Dr. Sherley," which airs weekly on major platforms and Envisioned Broadcasting Radio station. As a Certified Christian counselor, she specializes in grief, trauma, women’s issues, and relationships. Sherley is not only an international speaker and bestselling author but has also written five books.
Dr. Sherley is the visionary founder of Beauty for Ashes Global, a non-profit, faith-based organization, Dr. Sherley is committed to women’s empowerment and spiritual growth. The organization provides Christian Bible teaching and resources through various channels, including books, sermons, intercessory prayers, evangelical missions, and community outreach. Beauty for Ashes Global has a dual mission, locally and globally, to offer strength and hope to those in despair through spiritual growth opportunities. Monthly virtual meetings, daily inspirational posts via social media, and global evangelistic outreach events are among the ways Dr. Sherley actively engages with and empowers women and her global audience. As an empowered woman herself, Dr. Sherley is called to counsel, inspire, and empower others on their spiritual journeys. Through her newest venture Grace Divine Enterprises, Dr. Sherley will offer publishing services to aspiring and seasoned authors as well as coaching services to support Christian entrepreneurs and leaders. Her life coaching services will also be extended to those navigating hurt and trauma and seeking effective avenues topropel forward.
